Refinish Red Oak in Highland

We completed a project in Highland, Utah, for a family. They requested a grey stain.

When we offer stain color choices, we always apply the stain directly to their newly sanded floors. That way they can see the stain color exactly how it will look on their wood. Once they choose a stain, we sand it off and apply the stain throughout.

Take a look at their floors after choosing the Driftwood Stain. Driftwood has blue undertones. It’s subtle but it can be seen throughout the wood.

A word about dark stains: If you want a dark stain or white stain (lighter than the original wood), water popping is necessary to open up the grain and allow the stain to soak in consistently. This is true for all wood types, not just the closed-grained wood.
